Last night I had a dream (or nightmare) about my teen years, back when the Soviets were a big deal.

Those poor people: economy in the crapper, unlimited surveillance, warrantless search and seizure, and low-level government employees barking orders at all who passed.  Dissent was frowned upon, the media were controlled (read: worthless), and the military was determined to invade or destroy every country with a non-conforming government.

Then I woke up.  Whew.  Thank goodness I’m a Murrican bubba.

Thank goodness indeed something like that would never happen in these United States. Lord knows the current administration won’t let it happen… >.>
