According to a recent analysys (National Center for Education Statistics) U.S. students are behind in math and science.
Blow me down. I knew they couldn’t read Dick and Jane but I thought they were zipping right along in the other stuff.
We give them teachers that don’t know the material. We don’t force them to attend class, since there are great economic lessons to be learned by dealing dope in the schoolyard. We promote them when they fail. Finally we turn them loose with a degree. They can pronounce the first part of that: “duh.” They can pick up the “gree” part later, right? That’s what graduate study loans are for.
We all bitch about shipping jobs offshore. Uh huh. Would you pay someone $20 an hour to spend a day figuring out which end of a bolt the nut goes on?
I didn’t think so.
